The Wedding Banquet

MAKING IT COUNT
I want to help and equip you to lead your children spiritually.

To think about…

What are some games and actives you and your child enjoy? These will be different for your three year old or ten year old and all the ages in between.
When might be a good time of the day, or week, for you to set aside time to just have fun with each of your children?

TO READ TOGETHER
Matthew 22:1-14
During bible times, wedding feasts sometimes lasted for many days! Family and friends often made long, hard journeys to be at the wedding. The host would keep the party going until everyone was rested for the return trip home.
It’s important to know - God invites us all to love and be loved. We are all invited to the party.

TO LEARN TOGETHER
So go to the street corners and invite everyone you see. Tell them to come to my feast. Matthew 22:9

SO I’M WONDERING…
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR KIDS (AND YOURSELF)
What kinds of clothing do people wear to a wedding?
Who do you invite to your home as guests? What makes you a good host or a good guest?

TO DO TOGETHER
EAT TOGETHER: Each night this week, join together to prepare one family member’s favourite food. Talk about the different foods you all like to eat.

MAKE IT SPECIAL: Pretend that dinner tonight is a wedding banquet. Have your children help by setting the table and decorating it for this special meal. Who could you invite to eat it with you?

KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN
This week, look for people who are dressed in clothing that would be good to wear to a wedding or other fancy event. When you spot an example, say to yourself “We are all invited to God’s feast.”

SUNDAY IS COMING
Feed the puppy
There is a hungry puppy on the sign in desk ready to eat the coins your children bring for offering. We use this money to support Miguel, our Compassion child, who lives in Mexico.

The puppy needs a name... Any suggestions? We’ll make a decision on the puppy’s name this Sunday morning.
