Paying Taxes

MAKING IT COUNT
I want to help and equip you to lead your children spiritually.

To think about…
Showing love requires paying attention to what someone likes. What does your child seem to enjoy the most right now? How can you join them in that?

It is impossible to love anyone with the persistence that your child at this age needs unless you have a little time to refuel yourself.

TO READ TOGETHER
Matthew 22:15-22
The religious leaders tried to trick Jesus but Jesus wouldn’t fall for it. Instead, Jesus taught them to do the math: God made you + Jesus says, “Give to God the things that are God’s” = Give yourself to God

TO LEARN TOGETHER
Give to God the things that are God’s. Matthew 22:21b

SO I’M WONDERING…
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR KIDS (AND YOURSELF)
What do you think of when you think of the word spend? Time, money, talent? How do you spend your time, money, talents?

Jesus said that all the things that God made are stamped with God’s image. Does that mean that we look like God? Does that mean God looks like us?

TO DO TOGETHER
HIDE & SEEK: Hide coins around the house. Have your children hunt for them.

PRAY TOGETHER
Dear God, You have given us so much (point to yourself)
Teach us to spend what we have and all that we are on you! (point up)
Amen

SUNDAY IS COMING
There is a hungry puppy on the sign in desk ready to eat the coins your children bring for offering. We use this money to support Miguel, our Compassion child, who lives in Mexico.
The puppy needs a name... Any suggestions? We’ll make a FINAL decision on the puppy’s name this Sunday morning.
