Be ready

SUNDAY IS COMING & IT’S MOVING DAY!
We have this one last Sunday at the school and hall in Matsqui and after church we are moving!
We need lots of help on Sunday to take all the toys and equipment from the basement and the kids trailer to our new venue. We are going to need all hands on deck to move things. I hope to see you there!

TO READ TOGETHER
Matthew 25:1-13
In a village in Jesus’ time, a wedding was one of the most exciting festivities for the community. The bridegroom typically traveled to the bride’s parents’ home to pick her up and take her back to his home. The whole village came out to escort the bride and groom to their new home.
In the story, there are wise and foolish bridesmaids, some were ready to run to the groom, others were not. Jesus tells stories about foolish and wise people, because he wants all of us to stay awake and be ready for what God is doing in this world.
Look around (wake up), where do you see God at work?

SO I’M WONDERING…
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR KIDS (AND YOURSELF)
How did you feel when some of the bridesmaids didn’t help the others? What does that tell you about yourself?

TO DO TOGETHER
DO SOMETHING:Set a stopwatch and see how fast your family can make dinner, clean the house or get in the car.

KEEP YOUR EARS OPEN
Find all the things in your house that have alarms. Is your family good or still working on being ready on time? Do you find it easy or hard to get out of bed in the morning?

ON THE MOVE
Sunday, November 19, will be our first Sunday in our new place. It would be great for you to be there and for your kids to start something new together with their friends. We’ll start with worship all together in the gym before we show the children and you their new rooms and get them settled into their new classrooms. I’m so looking forward to us all being in the same building, I can hardly wait!
