Jesus is the light

Happy Monday, here’s the information for this week and a few things for your calendars.

All church skating party Saturday Dec 23, come at 9:30am for an hour of skating followed by our annual Myron Berg Cup hockey game played by the Bridge Men's hockey teams. Rentals are included. MSA arena (2323 Emerson St, Abbotsford, BC V2T 3J3).

Christmas Eve is on a Sunday this year and we will have our Christmas Eve service at 10am. The children will be singing a few songs. We will not have an evening service.

SUNDAY IS COMING & SO IS CHRISTMAS!

We’ll be signing kids in at 10am this week and keeping them through the service. You are welcome to bring your kids to us part way through or after worship if you prefer, if they enjoy being in worship with you then that is great.
We’ll be practicing a few songs that the children will do on Christmas Eve with the grown ups so if you are planning on being there on the 24th in the morning then being there this week too would really help :)
Watch out for the wise men on your way to kids on Sunday, they’re getting closer but they aren’t at the nativity scene yet.

TO READ TOGETHER
John 1:6-8, 19-28
Jesus is the light of the world. John the Baptizer’s job was to prepare the way for Him and point Him out. As you prepare for Christmas find ways to point to Jesus in the middle of the crazy. When you see lights, remember that Jesus is the light of the world.

TO LEARN TOGETHER
Jesus said, “I am the Light of the World” John 8:12

SO I’M WONDERING…
THINGS TO TALK ABOUT WITH YOUR CHILDREN
John the Baptist says that Jesus is the light of the world. How does Jesus bring light to your world?

TO DO TOGETHER
Take a drive and look at all the lights people have set up on their houses. Remind yourselves that Jesus is the light of the world and His light shines even brighter than these.

FAMILY PRAYER
Dear God, we know that You are the light of the world. Guide us on the right path and help us shine your light to others we meet. Amen
