Jesus gives evil a time out

SUNDAY IS COMING
We’ll be signing in children from 9:55am in the big space just past the gym entrance. If your kids are happy to they can run down to their classrooms after you have signed them in and kids from Grades 3, 4 & 5 will be escorts too.

TEAM 345 - JANUARY 28
The older kids in bridgeKIDS (grades 3,4 & 5) are very ready to help out and next weekend (JAN 28) they will be helping out BIG TIME - if you get your kids there for 9:45am then we’ll get them set them up with different jobs to do through the morning including sign in and welcome, tech, snack prep, sign out, game running, worship leading, story telling… there’s something for everyone. Plan on being there early (9:45) so your GRADE 3, 4, & 5 kid can be involved!

TO READ TOGETHER
Mark 1:21-28
This passage is one of four stories in Mark’s gospel that show Jesus casing out demons from people. The others start at 3:19, 5:1, and 7:24. Each story shows the power Jesus has over unclean spirits. When He commands them out of people, they obey. Your kid might understand it this way: Jesus gives evil a time out.

TO LEARN TOGETHER
“Jesus teaches with authority. He even gives commands to evil spirits, and they obey him.” Mark 1:27b

TO DO TOGETHER
Is there someone you know who is sick? Praying for them is one way of helping them and you can also show them compassion by bringing them a meal or helping them clean their house or work in their yard or… how can your family help someone else?

SO I’M WONDERING…
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR KIDS (AND YOURSELF)
How have you felt the Holy Spirit at work in your life recently?
How did Jesus teach differently than the scribes and teachers of the law?
When was the last time you prayed for someone who was sick?

FAMILY PRAYER
Dear Jesus, We know the Holy Spirit surrounds us every day. Fill us with Your wisdom as we go out into the world to show everyone what it is like when You are in charge because Your Kingdom has come. Help us when we need healing. Amen.
