Jesus dared to care

SUNDAY IS COMING
We’ll be signing in children from 9:55am in the big space just past the gym entrance. If your kids are happy to they can run down to their classrooms after you have signed them in or you can walk them to their groups.

TO READ TOGETHER
Mark 1:29-39
Our point this week is ‘Jesus dared to care’. A crowd gathers at Simons’ house with their sick to have Jesus heal them. He doesn’t turn them away but He heals them and gives evil time out, like we talked about yesterday. Jesus doesn’t stay in one place though, He travels around the region talking about God’s love in the synagogues (local gathering and worshiping places) and showing God’s love as well as He heals people and sets them free.

TO LEARN TOGETHER
Jesus taught in the synagogues and preached the Good News about the kingdom of heaven. And he healed all the people’s diseases and sicknesses.
Matthew 4:23

TO DO TOGETHER
We have people in our church family who have chosen to live in another part of the world to share the love of God there. You can find them on this page on our website. [link to the page]
Choose one of them and send them a message to let them know that you’re thinking of them and praying for them. Jesus is with them, just like He is with you.

SO I’M WONDERING…
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR KIDS (AND YOURSELF)
A miracle is a wonderful event that happens without a logical explanation. Jesus performs many miracles in the gospels when He heals very sick people. What miracles have you witnessed or heard about from your friends and family?

Jesus often goes out of His way to help people that others might ignore. How can we follow His example of service and put others before ourselves?

TO PRAY TOGETHER
Dear God, We thank you for teaching us how to live humbly, serving others. Help us to remember Jesus’ example and how he always put others before himself. We remember your promise to always stay with us, wherever we go. Amen.

FAMILY DAY IDEA!
I had a thought that it might be fun to go tubing together on the family day holiday, February 12. I tried to get a special deal but as it’s a holiday it’s a blackout day for deals at Hemlock. But, it still might be fun to do.
10am-12pm - 5 and under are free, 6 and up $21 or a family of 4 is $75

If you are thinking you might go let me know and I’ll let them know how many of us will be there and they will reserve the tubes for us so we can be guaranteed to get on at that time.
