God tells us how to get along

SUNDAY IS COMING
We’ll be signing in children from 9:55am in the big space just past the gym entrance. If your kids are happy to they can run down to their classrooms after you have signed them in or you can walk them to their groups.

TO READ TOGETHER
Exodus 20:1-17
When God gave Moses the law He didn’t number them but they have come to be known as the Ten Commandments. They give us how to get along, with God (read the first three) with each other (read the last six) and the one in the middle that ties it all together is doing everything from a God-given place of rest.

TO LEARN TOGETHER
I am the Lord your God.
Exodus 20:2a

TO DO TOGETHER
Write out the Ten Commandments using positive statements (You “shall” instead of “you shall not”). Decorate your list and post it on the fridge.

SO I’M WONDERING…
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR KIDS (AND YOURSELF)
The Commandments teach us to treat others as we would like to be treated. Describe a time you lived like this.
Which of the Commandments is easiest to obey?
Which is the hardest to obey?

TO PRAY TOGETHER
Dear Lord, we offer You our awe and our best efforts at obedience. Thank You for teaching us how to live with one another. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

LISTEN FOR THE GOOD STUFF
There is so much craziness in the world and nastiness that we could listen to but this week the challenge is to listen for the good stuff.
Listen for kind words shared with others. When you hear them, remember how God wants us to treat one another and how He treats us.
