KIDS ON SUNDAY
We take a break from our regular meeting together as just kids over the summer. The kids will join the adults for our sung worship, a story/prayer moment and snack (coffee break) and then they’ll go out to play. There are little kids toys in the room opposite the library for you and your babes&tots to use in a self-serve play space and lego and colouring for the older kids in the library and corridor just outside it. I’ll be asking random parents and others to hang with the older kids during the sermon as I see who is there and how many people we need. A copy of the sermon will be emailed to anyone who volunteers later in the day.
KIDS AT HOME
Read Luke 10:38-42
Mary does something important that is about spending time with Jesus. So far we’ve talked about praying and being thankful and we asked God to show us what was good to do. Mary does something else - she listens to Jesus. Listening is an important part of praying that we sometimes forget about.
This week find a few minutes, maybe at a meal time or bed time and try being quiet so you can just listen. Tell Jesus that you want to be like Mary and listen to what he has to say and then be quiet… I wonder what he’ll whisper in your heart?
Note for parents - don’t dismiss anything as silly, God speaks to kids in their language and that can sometimes be a little off the wall. Ask them to clarify or to go back and ask Jesus another question about whatever it is that they heard if it isn’t immediately obvious.
KIDS ART CAMP & PLAY TIME
I am away the second half of this week so there is no art camp this week but we’ll be back at the school on Friday, July 26 at 10am, put it in your calendar now!
COMMUNITY IS IMPORTANT
If you are doing something that you’d be happy for other families to join you in, like a lake day, the zoo or whatever, let me know and I’ll get the message out to all our families.
Let’s make sure that even though our kids won’t be together on Sundays through the summer in bridgeKIDS that they continue to connect through the Summer as being together as community is important for all of us.
