Compassion Camp, At the Table - week 2

What is Compassion Camp?
As we look around the world, what becomes clearer each day is our deep need for compassion - now more than ever. We hope to cultivate compassion for each other, ourselves, and the world and through the summer we’ll be looking at different places in our lives where we can cultivate compassion: At the Table, To the Neighbour, For Myself, Along the Way, With the World

BridgeKIDS@HOME: At the Table, Pt 2
If I see someone step on a piece of LEGO! I feel compassion for them because I know it hurts. My foot cannot feel it in that moment, but my empathy kicks in and my brain reminds me what that suffering feels like. If my compassion is strong! I might offer to help you.
That's what compassion is: I see your hurt, I feel your hurt with you (empathy), and I help ease your hurt.
Compassion helps us see and welcome. To see and welcome is how we accept one another. When we gather at the table, we accept each other in the same way God accepts us.

To Learn Together
Let us love one another, for love comes from God.
1 John 4:7

A song for these two weeks.

I have recorded the story just for you guys!

I have printed out pages for colouring and assembling for your family to make a large Compassion Camp poster - text me - 604 615 9406 - and I’ll make sure I have them ready for you to collect. Come say hi!

The Lueck family has the VR headset this week as Gabu drew their names on Saturday - who will get it next week I wonder?
The challenge this week is to make a paper airplane and send me a video of it flying by Friday!

To Pray Together:
Welcoming One,
Your warm, wide arms are always open,
drawing us into your heart full of love.
Make our arms your own,
helping us see and welcome
with compassion all those we meet.

What is bridgeKIDS doing to stay connected? A HIKE
In the survey that some of you completed (thank you) some of you said you were ready to do things as a family and be together in small groups. To facilitate that Kylee & Janine have planned a bridgeKIDS family hike for this Friday morning.
Pack your own water bottle and snack - meet at 9:30am at the end of Treetop Dr. and I’ll see you at the end with popsicles!
Can you let Janine know if you’re coming so that we know how many to expect and plan the distancing appropriately?

Watch out on Saturday for your zoom invite
