Blessed are the pure in heart

BridgeKIDS and adults are going through the Beatitudes in our online gatherings this fall.

FROM YESTERDAYS BRIDGEKIDS@HOME
‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.’
We made mercy glasses to help us remember to look at other people with kindness and mercy, but don’t forget to look in the mirror because you deserve mercy and kindness too.
We talked about having the choice to act or speak with mercy or not. When we offer mercy, we feel what the other person feels, take action and their behalf, and work to help make their world better. When we do this we are being merciful like Jesus is merciful.

THE CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK:
Pay attention to how you respond to one another in your family or at school this week, are you being harsh or are you being merciful? Talk about it together.

FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 1
To read & a beatitude to remember: ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.’

Being pure in heart is about being ourselves in every situation. It is about lining up our actions, our thoughts, and our feelings. When we are being ourselves and not faking it we start to learn about the way God made us and I think it helps us see God in the created world all around us too.

Being pure in heart is to show love for God, our neighbour, and ourselves in how we act, speak, and think. When we live like this we want good for everyone, and will do kind and helpful things because we know how much God loves us and other people and all creation.

SHOW & TELL
Come next Sunday and show us what you are good at, what you are practicing or maybe something you are just learning.

THINK ABOUT IT
Put a hand on your heart. Take a moment or two to be still and feel your heart beat and listen to the world around you. Now ask one another, “Where do you see God today?”

A BLESSING TO PRAY OVER EACH OTHER
May God bless you inside and out, from your heart to your mind and to your body.

I'M PRAYING FOR YOU!
Let me know if there is anything specific that you’d like me to be praying for in this season of life.
Love and peace to you all, hope to see you on Zoom this Sunday morning, 9:30
