The eighth day of Lent

What I want the title of a poem by Kathy Klassen over a beige and green globe

Thursday, February 22, Lent, day 8

Today we have a poem by Kathy Klassen as our prayer for peace. It’s a cry from her heart, take minute to read it and join her.

What I Wish For

I wish for
everyone to be fed
and to please have a bed
with a roof over their dear precious heads

For everyone to be known
no one disowned
discarded, unwanted
or addressed in harsh tones

For fighting to end
and people to mend
For empathy and compassion.
Can we be friends?

For all Wars to cease
finally World peace
and solving this horrific
mind boggling disease

To listen to each other
fathers, sisters and mothers
Let’s share the load
as we care for our brothers

No need for street drugs
addiction is cured
not alone but together
in a community hug

This poem might sound cheesy and easy and dumb
but still, can it matter to relieve even one
of the painful mistreatments in our worldhood?
Instead of ignoring, it’s boring and I am so done?
