Monday, March 11, Lent, day 23
This is about being proactive, not reactive and it is about following Jesus in all things. The world can be pretty messed up and it is easy to react against it or to despair because of it. But we are children of God and as such, we are members of a different kin-dom, where Jesus is Lord. There is a lot of now and not yet about that statement but it is a reality that we are invited to live into.
Does where you are look like the kin-dom of God? Yes! That’s wonderful, enjoy it, but I doubt that is the truth. If your answer to that question is no, then look around, how can you make it so?
We are called to live as citizens of his peaceable kingdom no matter what the rest of the world does. Brian Zahnd
Let’s pray.
Lord Jesus, we want your kin-dom on earth. We want your will done on earth as in heaven. It’s too long to wait for another day for that to happen. We need it now. If it’s in our hands to do something, show us what that is so we can get on with being citizens of your peaceable kin-dom.
