Blessed are those who mourn

BridgeKIDS and adults will be going through the Beatitudes in our online gatherings this fall.

FROM YESTERDAYS BRIDGEKIDS@HOME (Sept 27)
We talked about the first beatitude: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. We thought about people who get stuck in an emotion or a situation and feel like things will never change and how this might make them feel sad or angry or worried but there is good news in the beatitude! Feelings can change and knowing that the kingdom of God has come is good news that might transform those feelings into happiness.

THE CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK:
At dinner this week pick an emotion from your emoji sticks and share a time you felt like that during the day. Listen to each of the stories. Think about how God might have been with you in that moment or what Jesus might say about that.
If you didn’t make emoji sticks with us yesterday - you could do that today!

FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 4
To read & a beatitude to remember

‘Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.’

Tears and crying are important. Especially when what makes us cry is painful or hard to hold. It's also a beautiful way we connect with God. Did you know God cries too? And that Jesus cried during his time on earth God cries for everyone. God's heart is wide and holds all the pain of everyone hurting throughout the whole world. And when we cry, it's a way of sharing in God's heart. Jesus promises that God will comfort us when we cry and he may choose to use us to comfort someone else too.
