Blessed are those who hunger and thirst

BridgeKIDS and adults are going through the Beatitudes in our online gatherings this fall.

FROM YESTERDAYS BRIDGEKIDS@HOME
We made bugs, just because.

We talked about meekness, that it means being strong and gentle. In adults Dean said meekness is strength under control and that is a great definition. We can show gentleness to each other, ourselves and the world. We can control our strength to help others rather than hurt with our words and our actions.

We talked about our precious things and how we protect them.

Think about how precious you are to God who made you. He wants us to care for what he has given us, ourselves, each other and the world around us.

THE CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK:

Finish and name your bug that you made with us on Sunday or make one now.

Tell a story about how you care for the earth to make it a better place for your bug to live.

FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 4
To read & a beatitude to remember

‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be filled.’

Imagine a world where everyone has what they need and are treated fairly. This is the kind of world Jesus is talking about in this Beatitude. Many of the people Jesus was talking to were literally hungry for food but also hungry for justice or for things to be made right. When we partner with God to bring justice on earth, we are working toward a world where living things live in right and healthy relationships. We all fight for justice in different ways, what do you feel passionate about?

THINK ABOUT IT
How does it feel to be really, really hungry or thirsty?
Can you feel like that about other things - not food or drink? What would that be like?
Is there anything in the world that you think should be made right?

A BLESSING TO PRAY OVER EACH OTHER
God blesses you to live for justice in your home and your community.

REMEMBER MIGUEL
Eat tacos and thank God for Miguel
Pray that Miguel would learn to look after the place where he lives.
Draw a picture or write a letter and I will send it for you

SPECIAL GUEST THIS SUNDAY
Meghan works at the foodbank and puts together Starfish bags for kids - come and hear her tell us all about it and what we can do to help her
