Blessed are the peacemakers

BridgeKIDS and adults are going through the Beatitudes in our online gatherings this fall.

FROM YESTERDAYS BRIDGEKIDS@HOME
‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.’
There are some pretty amazing talents in our group. We saw origami, creativity of lots of kinds, heard about hula hooping and even had someone play a trombone!
When you are fully being yourself and not pretending to be someone else but just being happy with who you are because you were made that way then there is no fighting going on between your heart and your head and your body. When your inside thoughts and feelings match what you do, you are really being you. Maybe being exactly who we are is to be ‘pure in heart’.

THE CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK:

Colour your blessed are the pure in heart page and draw yourself in the space doing something that makes you especially you.

FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 8
To read & a beatitude to remember

‘Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.’

We often use the word peace to mean being free from disruption. The kind of peace Jesus talks about is more than calm, quiet, or a lack of conflict. True peace is what Jesus and his followers called ‘shalom,’ which means wholeness and wellness. All of your needs - physical, emotional, spiritual, etc - are met and lovingly cared for.

Have you ever felt that kind of peace?

God desires this peace among all people: young and old, disabled and non-disabled, among all genders, between nations, and among all expressions of faith. God’s peace is not fake peace, it is a deep wholeness. That’s why Jesus blessed the peacemakers.

THINK ABOUT IT
When you have tough moments in your family or among your friends how can you be a peacemaker? What peacemaking can be done to bring things to wholeness or healing?

A BLESSING TO PRAY OVER EACH OTHER
May God bless you with peace to be a peacemaker

REMEMBER MIGUEL
Eat tacos and thank God for Miguel.
Pray that Miguel would be a peacemaker in his home and with his friends.
Draw a picture or write a letter and I will send it for you

I’m praying for you!
Let me know if there is anything specific that you’d like me to be praying for in this season of life.
Love and peace to you all, hope to see you on Zoom this Sunday morning, 9:30
