Advent 3 - Journeying

Tell the story
I am serializing the Christmas Story into very short segments and telling terrible jokes that are posted on our church Instagram stories and on the BridgeKIDS page on Facebook every day through this month.

You can watch and catch up with all the days so far on Facebook or join me today on Instagram to pick up where we are.

And, if your child has a seasonal joke they’d like to share I’d love that. Video them and send it to me or text it to me and I’ll include it with a shout out to the joke teller in the story.

Yesterday
We told the story of Mary and the Angel and thought about how she accepted the hard thing she was being asked to do. Sometimes we have to do hard things too and God with us - Emmanuel - will help us through them.

This coming Sunday
This week’s story turns to Joseph, he also got a message from an angel and it gave him courage to do his hard thing. Joseph and Mary journeyed to Bethlehem for the census. This Sunday’s advent theme is Journeying so we’ll talk about journeys and other Joseph related things.

We’ll be colouring, making wooden tree trims and playing a few games and hanging out together on Zoom. Come ready to tell us your favourite joke this Sunday.

Let’s Pray
God, I thank you that you go with us on our life journey. Thanks for the example Joseph gives us to trust You. May we do the same.
Amen.

Last Week’s Big Challenge
Build a place for Mary & Joseph to go, a stable, a house, a cave… we aren’t sure where Jesus was born but it was maybe one of those…
- you could make it out of anything, Lego, playdoh, junk, paper, cardboard, amazon boxes... whatever you have at hand.
Show us on Sunday if you’ve got yours made, or send me a photo. Here’s Eli’s lego stable
