Easter Season, Thomas' Story

Easter Sunday is the day we celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead but this isn’t a one day only kind of thing - Jesus is alive and that’s good news for every week!

On Sunday…
We told the story of Easter together from Palm Sunday through to the Resurrection and drew lots of happy faces. Happy faces because Jesus is alive! We played a game of hunt the egg, eggs are a good picture of new life. Jesus gives us all new life because he rose from the dead.

Challenge: In Creation
Keep your eyes open. Where do you see new life appearing? You might need to hunt for it like you hunted for eggs on Sunday. Take photos of shoots, and sprouting plants and new life where you see it.

Worship Dance Party
Worship isn’t fabulous on Zoom and so I’ve put together a playlist on Spotify that we’d have used if we were face to face.

This coming Sunday
This week we’ll tell the story of Thomas’ encounter with Jesus. Thomas is sometimes called Doubting Thomas - I don’t think that’s altogether a bad thing but it’s also not the only thing about him.
John 20:19-31

Let’s Pray
Jesus, you are okay with us asking questions and that’s great. Here’s a question I have… (ask Him whatever you want to)
Help me keep my eyes open for ways that we might see you in our family, friends, and the world around us, even in our imaginations or our dreams - you can use anything to let us know that you love us.

Prep for Sunday - thank you!
We just need paper and colours for this weekend.

Question of the week
Ask yourself, as a sibling, as a parent, ask a friend - even ask a stranger…

Can you tell me about a time you did something you were afraid to try?
