Jesus is baptized

YESTERDAY IN KIDS
We told the story of Jesus in the temple and created our own from Lego or other things. We talked about Jesus being quite happy there and then we wondered where we would be if we were there too.
Everyone, not surprisingly, wanted to be right there with Jesus!

THE CHALLENGE THIS WEEK
Make a blanket fort or find a cozy corner or something similar that’s big enough for you (not just lego you) and spend some time in your space asking Jesus anything you want to.

BRIDGEKIDS ZOOM, JAN 16
TO GET READY FOR SUNDAY
TO READ: Matthew 3:1-6, 11-17
Last week we talked about him in the temple at the age of 12 and then he went home to be with his parents. Now, as a fully grown adult, he is getting ready to start his kingdom bringing work and he goes out to see John in the desert. Read what happens there as Matthew tells it.
TO REMEMBER: Matthew 3:16
Jesus came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened up to him and he saw the Spirit of God, she descended like a dove and came upon him.
A PRAYER
Jesus, thank you that you came to save. Show us all kinds of things about you as we follow you on this journey of stories between here and Easter. Amen.

TO DO AT HOME
TALK ABOUT IT
Imagine you are John in the story. How do you think he felt when he realized who Jesus was?
How do you think Jesus felt when the Holy Spirit came on him like that?

TASTE IT
I’m not sure you want to eat locusts but how about creating a snack like the food John ate in the desert. Something crunchy (like locusts would be) and something sweet (like honey)? How creative can you be?

LIST IT
Start or continue your gratitude list. Put it somewhere you can see it and add something new each day every day this month.

SEE YOU ON ZOOM @ 9:30AM THIS SUNDAY!
