EASTER 2: Jesus appears to everyone, almost

LAST SUNDAY IN KIDS
It was Easter Sunday and we gathered with the grown ups to celebrate together. I hope whatever you did to celebrate Easter this weekend was a good time! The Season of Easter isn’t over, it’s only just getting started.

THE CHALLENGE THIS WEEK
Enjoy being alive!
Ask yourself - when did I feel most alive today?

BRIDGEKIDS ZOOM, APRIL 24
TO GET READY FOR SUNDAY

TO READ: John 20:19-31

There are two parts to this story this week - we’re going to focus on the first part where Jesus appears to the disciples in the closed room where they are hiding from everyone and gives them peace and shows them his wounds. You can read that in v19-23, the second part is about Thomas who missed out on this first encounter with Jesus.

TO REMEMBER:
Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!
John 20:19

A PRAYER:
Dear Jesus
May I feel your peace.
May my family feel your peace.
May my friends feel your peace.
May my enemies feel your peace.
May all the people of the world feel your peace.
May the earth feel your peace.
Amen

TO DO AT HOME
TALK ABOUT IT
How do you feel when you hurt?

How do our wounds help us understand Jesus?

How do Jesus’ wounds help God understand us and help us?

A SIMPLE PRACTICE
Can you see God? Yes and no. God is invisible, but you can see evidence of God’s love all around. Of course, you have to be looking! Open your eyes to notice God in unexpected places like waiting in line or doing chores.
