Jan 15 - light has come

EPIPHANY WORDS
We chose Epiphany words - which is something we’ve done many years in kids - if you would like a word for this year I can choose one for you at random. Let me know. If you can join me this Sunday we’ll play a game to choose words together.

THIS WEEK - JAN 15

TO READ: Psalm 36:5-10
This is a psalm of praise. We are starting off the year with praise. There are lots of pictures in this psalm. See if you can imagine what the Psalmist was looking at or thinking about when they wrote these words.

A PRAYER
Jesus, you are the light and we are filled with light because you give us light. In this dark time of year fill our hearts and our homes with your light. Amen

TO DO TOGETHER
Light a candle. Think of someone who is alone or who is struggling with the dark of winter. Imagine them surrounded by light. How do you think they might feel if they could see inside your imagination and see themselves the same way?

AN IDEA TO THINK ABOUT
This psalm says that people find safety in the shadow of God’s wings. Look at how different birds care for their eggs and chicks. How do you think God is like the bird?

TO GET READY FOR SUNDAY
We’ll be drawing pictures this Sunday so have paper and colours nearby.

JOIN SARAH ON ZOOM THIS WEEKEND
Log in a 9:30am and we will talk about all of this some more and draw some pictures, sing a song or two and use this Psalm as a way to praise. We’ll choose Epiphany words and play some games.
