BridgeKIDS are joining with the kids from Emmanuel this Sunday.

Check in with Sarah when you arrive at church and we’ll get signed in so we can just leave when it’s time.
Sarah is the Kids Church leader this week, so we’ll go upstairs after the first song so we are ready for the others from EMC to join us.
SUNDAY FAMILY LUNCH
We’ve been invited to join with the EMC families for a family lunch after church this Sunday. It is for families with kids and youth aged people. Can you hit reply and let me know if you can stay, how many people that would be and if there are any dietary things they need to know about?

To read together: Matthew 11:28-30
For parents: In the few verses before these three Jesus says ‘No one knows the Son (talking about himself) - only the Father knows the Son, And no one knows the Father - only the Son knows the Father. The religious leaders were teaching that obeying the Law perfectly was the only way to know God and they added more and more rules to the ten that God gave Moses and they made it harder and harder to do the right thing. But now, here is Jesus saying, ‘Come to me… following me is the only thing you need to do. This way isn’t heavy, this way is light.’
We’ll be talking about this and thinking about some ways we make it harder for ourselves than we need to and how following Jesus isn’t that complicated - like Jesus says in verse 25: you have hidden these things from the people who are wise and smart, but have shown them to those who are like little children.
Make some commandment cookies
Use your favourite sugar cookie or gingerbread recipe to make two large tablet shaped cookies, or ten small ones if you prefer.
If you have done two large ones then carve roman numerals into them with a toothpick or chopstick I, II, III, IV, V on one and VI, VII, VIII, IX, X on the other. or one numeral on each cookie if you made 10 of them.
Line up the cookies in order and read the commandments that go with them.

PRAYER
Jesus, thank you that following you isn’t complicated, and that it is always all about love. Loving God, and loving everything and everyone you have made, including ourselves. Amen
