Blessed are the merciful

BridgeKIDS and adults are going through the Beatitudes in our online gatherings this fall.

FROM YESTERDAYS BRIDGEKIDS@HOME
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice for they will be filled.
We talked about what children need to be satisfied. We talked about love, shelter, food, play, learning - and more… Meghan Kellington visited to tell us about the Starfish Backpack Program from the Archway FoodBank, it started us thinking about how we might be able to help her doing the work of literally satisfying the hunger of kids in our community.

THE CHALLENGE FOR THIS WEEK:
Decorate the brown bag that you last delivery of envelopes came in (or another bag) and put things that remind you of what children need inside it e.g a bandaid reminds you that children need healthcare, a book reminds you children need to learn, a toy reminds you children need to play

BRIDGEKIDS FAMILY HIKE
Meet at the top of Treetops Drive, Abbotsford at 10am this Saturday. Bring drinks, I’ll meet you at the end with the snack bin! :)

FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 25
To read & a beatitude to remember

‘Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.’

Merciful people help others. Who are the helpers? Doctors, nurses, farmers, firefighters… there are many people who use their lives to help others. They use their energy to help other people, this is mercy. They give us a hint at the ways that God is merciful to us.

Dress up Sunday
Come to kids@Home dressed up as a helper and we’ll guess who you are.

Think About It
Can you think of a time you received kindness when you did something hurtful?
You received mercy! How did that feel?

A Blessing to pray over each other
You are blessed because God shows you mercy, and you are blessed to show mercy to others

I’m praying for you!
Let me know if there is anything specific that you’d like me to be praying for in this season of life.
Love and peace to you all, hope to see you on Zoom this Sunday morning, 9:30
