God With Us - Stories of Jesus

GOD WITH US!
Stories of Jesus

Tell the story
We are telling the story of using the church year as our guide. We’ve done his birth through the stories of Advent and Christmas and will continue with Jesus stories through the year running in parallel to the adults in their gathering. Read the story with your kids and you’ll set the stage for all of you ahead of Sunday.

Yesterday
We told the story of the wise men and their arrival in Bethlehem via Herod in Jerusalem and the curious gifts they gave the baby Jesus. They would have been useful to the family to sell as they fled to Egypt to protect the child.

This coming Sunday
Our story jumps straight to Jesus’ baptism. John was out in the wilderness telling people to take God seriously and change what needed changing in their lives. He baptized them in the Jordan River but he told them that was nothing to what Jesus would do when He came. And then He came… read what happened at the River that day. You can read it ahead in Mark 1:4-11.

Let’s Pray
Dear God,
Thank you that we are Your children and that You love us. Help us to remember that just like You said You were pleased with Jesus You are also very pleased with us. Amen.

Worship Dance Party
Worship isn’t fabulous on Zoom and so I’ve put together a playlist on Spotify that we’d have used if we were face to face.
Watch out for the occasional Facebook worship moment in the near future too so we can learn new songs together!

SPOTIFY PLAYLIST

GOD WITH US!
In our family.
Each week we’ll take a different focus of God with us! This week it’s ‘In our family,’ but other weeks it will be, ‘In me,’ or ‘In our community,’ or ‘In our world’

There will be challenges to go along with these focuses so watch out for them in the upcoming weeks.

PREP FOR SUNDAY - THANK YOU!
Ahead of this Sunday, could you please gather some family photos or print pictures that the children can stick down to make a collage - we’ll do that bit together so just printing or gathering ahead would be helpful. They’ll also need some paper to stick it on, glue sticks and pens to write with.

(I’ll get kit bags of bits and pieces out for next week - hopefully!)
