God with us, Praying with Jesus

GOD WITH US!
Stories of Jesus

Tell the story
We are telling the story of using the church year as our guide. We are continuing with Jesus stories through the year running in parallel to the adults in their gathering. Read the story with your kids and you’ll set the stage for all of you ahead of Sunday.

Yesterday
We talked about Jesus having authority. He healed a sick man in the temple and brought him peace. Jesus not only taught wonderful things but did what he talked about as well.

Worship Dance Party
Worship isn’t fabulous on Zoom and so I’ve put together a playlist on Spotify that we’d have used if we were face to face.
Watch out for the occasional Facebook worship moment in the near future too so we can learn new songs together!

 This coming Sunday
In this week’s story Jesus heals Peter’s mother-in-law, and a bunch of other people who come out to see him. Then he takes himself off, by himself to pray. This week we are going to think about how Jesus prayed and ask him to teach us to pray in the wilderness too.
Mark 1:29-39

Prep for Sunday - thank you!
Gather together: an empty jar, paper in different colours or pens to colour it with, scissors, stickers if you have them, tape

GOD WITH US!
In our community
How can you be like Jesus and put your love into action? Have a think about someone you can help, maybe they’re sick, maybe they’re lonely and isolated.
What kind of gift of compassion can you bring that will help them? Ask them how you can love them! And then do it!

Let’s Pray
Dear Jesus,
You talked with God all the time. We ask you to teach us to pray like you did. Show us when we need some time out to be with you.
Help us recognize you with us
Amen

Pray for Miguel
Have a taco Tuesday in Miguel’s honour - ask God to be present with Miguel just like he is present with you.

Question of the week
Ask yourself, as a sibling, as a parent, ask a friend - even ask a stranger…

What is your favourite way to feel calm?
