God with us - the Transfiguration

GOD WITH US!
Stories of Jesus

Tell the story
We are telling the story of using the church year as our guide. We are continuing with Jesus stories through the year running in parallel to the adults in their gathering. Read the story with your kids and you’ll set the stage for all of you ahead of Sunday.

Yesterday
Jesus went out to pray by himself, we don’t know what he prayed. We imagined he talked about the amazing things that happened yesterday, the hard things that were to come and maybe he just sat and listened and said nothing for a while and He just enjoyed time being with God our Father.

Worship Dance Party
Worship isn’t fabulous on Zoom and so I’ve put together a playlist on Spotify that we’d have used if we were face to face.
Watch out for the occasional Facebook worship moment in the near future too so we can learn new songs together!

SPOTIFY PLAYLIST

This coming Sunday
This Sunday is Valentines day and the story is the transfiguration, where Moses and Elijah appear with Jesus on the mountaintop while Peter and the others watch. We’ll tie these two together - with ‘Jesus shows us what love looks like’
You can read the transfiguration story in Mark 9:2-9.

Prep for Sunday - thank you!
Gather together : paper and colours - that’s it! Easy!

GOD WITH US!
In our families
Fill a jar with love notes for different members of your family.
Find an empty jar & cut strips of paper - one colour for each person in your family (don’t forget yourself)
Every time you think of something lovely about them write it on a piece of paper, every time you want to ask God to help them, write it on a piece of paper too.
Empty the jar on Feb 14 and read your love notes and prayers for each other

Let’s Pray
Jesus, thank you for teaching us about love. Thank you for teaching us to love. Thank you for loving us and loving others through us!
Amen

Pray for Miguel

Have a taco Tuesday in Miguel's honour - ask God to show love to Miguel through his parents, siblings and friends.

Question of the week
Ask yourself, as a sibling, as a parent, ask a friend - even ask a stranger…
