Jesus is …
Our theme for the Fall is the list of things the Holy Spirit produces in God’s people that is found in Galatians 5:22-23. We’ll be taking one thing a week and thinking about how Jesus demonstrated or talked about that characteristic and how we can live it out loud as He shows us how.
This weekend the theme is PEACE. Jesus is PEACE. When Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit He said to His friends: “I leave my peace with you. I give my peace to you.” John 14:27
Peace is a time without fights or wars and in a larger sense, peace is about harmony, quiet or calm. Peace can be inside or outside of us. To be at peace on the inside is a deep sense of ‘everything is alright.’
Paul told the church in Philippi: Don’t worry about anything. No matter what happens, tell God about everything. Ask and pray, and give thanks to him. 7 Then God’s peace will watch over your hearts and your minds. He will do this because you belong to Christ Jesus. God’s peace can never be completely understood. (Philippians 4:6-7).

What would it be like if you didn’t worry about anything? Thinking about thanksgiving this weekend do you think there might be a link between being thankful and peace?
