Jesus is Patience

Jesus is …

Our theme for the Fall is the list of things the Holy Spirit produces in God’s people that is found in Galatians 5:22-23. We’ll be taking one thing a week and thinking about how Jesus demonstrated or talked about that characteristic and how we can live it out loud as He shows us how.

This weekend the theme is PATIENCE. Jesus is PATIENT with his friends and followers. He tells his friends to wait pretty often, today’s story is about that. Sometimes we just have to wait. ‘Wait for the Lord. Be strong and don’t lose hope. Wait for the Lord.’Psalm 27:14

Having to wait for things is hard. On the mountain Jesus is transfigured and Peter, James and John are witnesses to the whole thing. As they come back down the mountain Jesus tells them not to talk about it YET, they have to WAIT. I wonder if they had the patience to do that with such exciting news. Read the story together in Mark 9:2-10

Think about it: What are you waiting for? Do you find it easy or hard to wait for things and be patient? Do you find it easy or difficult to keep exciting news to yourself for a while?
