Jesus is KIND

Jesus is …

Our theme for the Fall is the list of things the Holy Spirit produces in God’s people that is found in Galatians 5:22-23. We are taking one thing a week and thinking about how Jesus demonstrated or talked about that characteristic and how we can live it out loud as He shows us how.

This weekend the theme is KINDNESS. Jesus is KIND. Jesus interacts with many, many people in many different situations and most often He is kind.

Jesus shows kindness to a man who no one wanted to be near, he even touched him. Jesus’ behaviour gave the man dignity. I think a lot of being kind is offering dignity to another. Read the story in Matthew 8:1-3
There are other stories that show Jesus’ kindness like getting down on the ground next to the woman who had been brought to him for judgement. Like taking the man who was deaf to one side away from the crowd before healing him so it maybe wasn’t so overwhelming for him once he was healed. What other occasions can you think of?

Think about it
Is it hard or easy to think of Jesus being kind? Is it hard or easy for you to be kind? Who do you think needs kindness today? How can you show them kindness? How can you show yourself kindness today? How do you think Jesus would show you kindness if you met him today like the people in the stories met him?
