Jesus is SELF-CONTROLLED

Jesus is …

Our theme for the Fall is the list of things the Holy Spirit produces in God’s people that is found in Galatians 5:22-23. We are taking one thing a week and thinking about how Jesus demonstrated or talked about that characteristic and how we can live it out loud as He shows us how.

This weekend the theme is SELF-CONTROL. Jesus is SELF-CONTROLLED.

Self-control is a developmental thing. bridgeKIDS aged kids are learning this and will continue to learn it into adulthood. I mean, we’re all still learning, right?! Expecting self-control all the time is unrealistic at best!
This weekend we’ll look at Jesus showing self-control when he could have fought back - take a look at the story in Matthew 26:36-56 and look at how Jesus acted and how his friends (who were still learning self-control) acted.

Think about it:
Is it hard or easy to think of Jesus having self-control?
Is it hard or easy for you to have self-control?
Name one thing that is in your control and one thing that is not in your control.

Get ready for Sunday on Zoom
Paper and pens will be handy to have nearby for Sunday. Anything else we need we’ll gather as we play a scavenger hunt together.

CHALLENGE - GENTLENESS
Look for something this week that needs your care. It could be a plant, or a person or an animal. How can you use your strength to help them? How can you use your gentleness to help them?
