Oct, 2 KIDS @ HOME

LAST SUNDAY - SEP 25
We talked a little bit about growing things and how some things grow super fast (like radishes and great blue whales) and other things grow super slow (like cactus and humans) but that God designed us that way. To God a thousand years is like a day and a day like a thousand years and so They are not in a hurry for us to be anything other than what we are right now.

THIS WEEK - OCT 2

TO READ:
This week we are going to develop that idea and look at how Jesus loves children and the way they think. The passage is Mark 10:13-16

A PRAYER
Jesus, I am so glad you love humans at every stage, from being tiny little people to super old and wrinkly and everything in between. Thank you that you aren’t in a hurry for us to grow up but you enjoy us as we are. Amen.

TO GET READY FOR TOMORROW
Find some paper that is big enough to put your hand on when you spread your fingers wide and some colours.

JOIN SARAH ON ZOOM THIS SUNDAY
Log in a 9:30am and we will talk about all of this some more and make something and sing a song, and talk about Jesus.

WHY DO KIDS ON ZOOM?
My aim with KIDS @ HOME is to give the children a space to be with each other, even if it’s virtual and to set them up with something that they could continue during the 10:30 gathering for everyone. We play games, do crafts, tell stories, and from time to time we have breakout groups for the older children too.

WHAT IF MY KID HATES ZOOM?
I’d encourage you to give it a go. If they don’t want to be on camera they could be playing. I’m happy, for example, if they want to build lego and listen. We go for 30 minutes and cram a lot of different things in so there’ll be something for most. I try and make it interactive and fun for them.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
If you want to join me as an extra adult that’s fantastic. I’d be happy to have you join us. If it’s just me though, I’ve got it! I will let you know on Saturday if there is anything it would be good to have on hand, like colours, paper, scissors etc. It’s usually things like that and if you could help your kids gather that ahead of time it will save us time in the 30 minutes.
