Oct 9 - Thanksgiving!

LAST SUNDAY - OCT 2
Jesus loves humans at every age and stage but it seems like He wants the grown ups to know that the way kids know and understand Him is something us older people should be aiming for. One thing to know for sure is that we are loved just as we are.

Your challenge this week is to find a way to remind someone how lovely they are and how loved they are. It could be someone in your family, a friend, a neighbour, a stranger. Tell them, or show them that they are loved.

THIS WEEK - OCT 9

A VERSE TO REMEMBER
Let the peace that Christ gives rule in your hearts. As parts of one body, you were appointed to live in peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

A PRAYER
Jesus, Chosen One, we are thankful for many, many things.
I am thankful for _____________ today. Amen.

Repeat this every day and see if you can think of something different every day.

THANKSGIVING
This weekend is Thanksgiving and as it is a long weekend we will not be gathering either live or online. Enjoy the weekend with your family and friends. If you have a minute or two I would love for you to make a quick video or reel showing us or telling us about something your family is thankful for.
Send it to Sarah or tag @thebridge_abbotsford to be included in the Bridge Instagram stories this weekend.

I am thankful for all of you and I hope that this weekend feeds you, body and soul, with all that is good.

WHY DO SELFIE SUNDAYS?
Especially on thanksgiving? Why would you skip church this weekend?
There is a certain amount of hustle that we live with in our culture without even realizing it and church can fall into the same trap unless we are careful. Rest runs counter to hustle and is so good for us, just think about the Sabbath and the importance of that. Time with friends and family is also good for us.
Long weekends allow us to pause as a community and have the freedom to enjoy those things without having to fit it around an official church gathering. And, after all, God is not located in the building but is wherever we are so we can enjoy God’s presence anywhere and worship in a different way.

OCTOBER 30
Kylee & Alisa are going to lead a family hike on Sunday October 30, meeting in Harvest Drive, Abbotsford at 3pm. After the hike will be a cookie decorating and hot chocolate drinking gathering at Sarah’s house (also on Harvest - which is handy!)
Put it in your calendar. There will be no KIDS @ HOME that week as this will happen in the afternoon instead,

I’ll ask nearer the time if you are planning on coming.
